Solo:
‘NO, IT’S NOT A SELF-PORTRAIT’is her first solo show ever. In 2017, Eva won the Carlsberg Foundation’s PORTRAIT NOW “Young Talent”-price at the age of 20. Today Eva lives in Berlin, where she has been working on this exhibition for almost a year. The works are drawings – primarily colour pencil on paper. The focal point is ‘female empowerment’. Being a young woman herself, Eva is obtained of creating a new narrative. She wants to rewrite internalized patriarchal discourses. Reclaiming a new storyline by taking well-known symbols from todays pop culture (fashion, design, social media etc.) mixing it with references and paraphrases from classical art masterpieces in order to create a statement about a new blossoming feminist movement. No, it’s not a self-portrait. It’s a story about something beyond the individual. About you, me, him, her – about us.
The exhibition is on view until June 2nd. 2018.Eva Helene Pade will be present at the opening.
We look forward to seeing you.
Regards,
Lars Bonde
