ON BEHALF OF THE UNCUT– paintings
featuring:
FOUR JARS AND ONE FOREST- ceramics
Friday, August 10th2018 – from 4 to 7pm.
The exhibition is on view until September 8th2018
The title ‘On behalf of the uncut’is by all means a good guideline to experience the paintings created by Paaskesen: The works are painted on used canvas from an old locomotive workshop, the creative painting process is very intuitive and physical and the motifs are also very unpolished and vibrant. You might think of Basquiat, Picasso and Kirkeby. But the result is original – naïve paintings with an impulsive and (neo) expressionistic feeling – inviting you to let your imagination go. Martin Paaskesen creates true uncut stories.
The exhibition also features ceramic works by artist Jørgen Hansen. Here ‘the uncut’ is also obvious. The raw and unpretentious shape and structure of the ceramic objects and the many shades of colours of the glaze create strong works. At first glance the objects seem simple – but for the trained eye, you will see the demanding skills needed to create these beautiful organic uncut pieces of art.
We look forward to seeing you.
Regards, Lars Bonde
