JULIE GREVE LINDHOLM – ‘in the woods’- paintings
LIS ANDERSEN – ‘constructions’- sculptures
Julie Greve Lindholm (b. 1977) is interested in human relations – how we interact with each other. The inspiration comes from pictures and stills from movies. In this new series of paintings the motifs – or scenes – circles around ‘what had just gone before’? or ‘what will happen after?’ The title‘in the woods’ can literally means that you are in the forest – but it can also means something about a person who is innocent or who lacks experience. Being in the nature can be nice and beautiful – but you can easily be on rocking ground. There is something at stake in the woods.
Lis Andersen (b. 1953) is an aesthetic. Her sculptures appear, precise in their intimations and accurate in form. They are calm and silent. Monumental in composition and yet vibrant and filled with possible pictures. The sculptures expresses an distinct architectural quality. The number of materials and effects are carefully selected. Surfaces and geometric principles. Nature´s materials such as granite, diabas and marble playing against organic wood and man-made glass. Lis Andersen creates pure and yet complex sculptures. Timeless.
