ANDREAS WELIN – paintings
Saturday, February 10. – 11 am – 3 pm
Andreas Welin will be present at the opening
The exhibition ends March 9. 2024.
Andreas Welin challenges our imagination. Encourages us to create our own narrative. To make connections. Andreas wants to capture some of the moods that we all experience to some extent in our social life. His works are emotional observations of reality. The paintings are a study of how body language, movement, social relations and colors can express what we feel when meeting others. Anxiety takes up a lot of space in Andreas Welin’s process. It is a catalyst for when something in the painting needs to be improved. The realization that wrong decisions requiring drastic changes can provoke anxiety. At the same time, it is precisely in these situations that the works are often pushed in an interesting direction. The paintings are shifts in time. Postures. Gaze directions. Moods. Scene change. What happens to a space when we occupy it? What has preceded us? What happens when we leave space? Andreas Welin’s paintings are part a larger narrative. It’s about capturing moments – and letting them go again. Momentum is fleeting. Right now, not yet.
