THORA FINNSDOTTIR – ceramics
There will be light. Despite living in dark times. We are celebrating the emergence from shadow winter into vibrant colours of spring with original works from three strong artists. It will be a mix of paintings and ceramics:
Kristian Funder (b. 1975) makes his debut at VÆG with oil paintings – scenes and tableaus with a catastrophic sensibility. Funder is presenting a novel form of animated expressionism, a cinematic form of painting where dense painted surfaces perform as screens through which you enter a fully crystalized vision.
Rikke Elgaard (b. 1973) presents new forms of expression – with exciting glaze techniques. Elgaard is finding herself in a balance between controlling the repetitive ornamentation and the many layers of glaze and letting the process develop itself. Challeging materials – bringning unique sculptures to life.
Thora Finnsdottir (b. 1974) presents new vases created from an idea of working sustainably. In the framework of a traditional still life with flowers, which contains undertones of human desire for abundance, luxury and power, anatomy from plants and human organs is juxtaposed.
Spring is coming – the light is increasing. More intense – more vibrant.
Saturday, March 8th 2025 – from 11am to 3pm.
The exhibition is on view until April 5th 2025
We look forward to seeing you.
