Weeds within Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am fascinated by the meeting between nature and culture \u2013 between
\naesthetics and decay. The dynamics within the oppositions between the
\nnatural, biological and the culturally determined, is what gives life to my work.
\nWhen evolution creates paths between cultural\/industrial flanks and the
\nnatural bio-diversity, interesting visual friction is created between weeds and
\nthe developed society \u2013 between poetry and structure. Despite the symbiotic
\nclash where elements take residence in places outside their natural habitat,
\nthey create a mutual idea in the scenery.<\/p>\n

My work often take their departure in environmental settings, in which I use
\nfigurative as well as abstract elements that create narrative leads. Weeds
\noperate in the shadows, and manifests itself in a variety of shapes, reflecting
\nthe individual’s perspective on life. As a colourful confetti of material objects
\nin the vegetation. A plastic bottle or candy wrapper on the floor of the forest.
\nA badger or a monkey on the stone bridge of the city. Cement or asphalt
\nspreading across the green land, where it cracks and creates the possibility
\nfor small new sprouts, to stretch towards the beams of light.<\/p>\n

To me it is fundamentally about the experience of the visual being able
\nto activate our senses. Maybe what creates the value, is actually these\u00a0contrasts?<\/p>\n
